The History of the Carter’s & Pajama Program Partnership

JANUARY 20, 2023

One fateful day in 2007, Mike Casey turned on the TV after a long day at work and tuned into the Oprah Winfrey Show. The featured segment told the story of Genevieve Piturro’s journey to founding the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Pajama Program.

Mike Casey happened to be (and still is) the CEO of Carter’s, one of the biggest global brands in children’s pajamas. Intrigued by the story, Mike decided to further explore this exciting opportunity for collaboration.

“Our customers have a huge heart for this program.”

The partnership between Carter’s and Pajama Program officially began in 2009. Over the past 14 years, the relationship between Carter’s and Pajama Program has deepened and evolved.

“What we love about our partnership is that it’s really multifaceted. We engage our employees, we also engage our customers, and of course, we utilize our resources—our pajamas,” said Christine Fradette, Senior Manager of Talent Development & Community Affairs at Carters Inc. “Our customers have a huge heart for this program.”

Carter’s steadfast support has been invaluable to Pajama Program’s ability to reach millions of children over the past 14 years. Thank you, Carter’s, for making more Good Nights for Good Days possible for children across the country.

Help us support good nights for good days for all children, everywhere.
