Charlton, MA Chapter
Chapter President, Christine Ohristo
Hi! My name is Christine Ohristo, and I am a native of Massachusetts. I live in Charlton, MA with my husband David. We have two daughters, Taryn and Julia, who are both college students. One of the most important things to me as a parent has always been instilling the love of reading in my daughters. There are no greater memories than the bedtime routines we have shared, and we have many favorite and memorable books from their childhood.
As a third grade teacher in the Auburn Public School system for over twenty years, I have dedicated my life to educating children on the importance of reading. Each year, we have a reading incentive program, and an important component of that program is to promote literacy. Through our community outreach during the reading incentive, we encourage students to read, and then our school donates books to various organizations. When I read about Pajama Program, I knew it would be a wonderful new organization for our school to raise donations of books and pajamas for. After reading more about Genevieve’s caring organization, I was very impressed and I couldn’t wait to become involved. I look forward to sharing the joy of reading and gathering donations of books and pajamas for others in my area. Please contact me if you would like to become involved!
