Raleigh, NC Chapter
Chapter President, Sue Myers
My name is Sue Myers, and I am the Chapter President for the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina. I was born and raised in the beautiful state of West Virginia and moved to North Carolina in the mid 90's.
Supporting organizations for those in need, especially ones for children, is something my husband and I strongly believe in. Children and the elderly are very close to my heart. As an elementary school teacher, I am continually amazed and inspired by my students.
While in a waiting room thumbing through a magazine I don't normally read, I stumbled across an article about Genevieve and Pajama Program. As soon as I had finished reading it, something immediately ‘clicked’ and I knew I had to be involved. When I found out that the Eastern part of the State was not represented, I jumped at the chance to become Chapter President.
Books and pajamas are basic items that many people take for granted, but more often than not, both invoke strong feelings of security and coziness. I have such warm memories of cozy pj's, new books, and being read to. Even now, putting on my pajamas and getting lost in a book is such a comfort.
If you have any questions or are interested in becoming involved in this wonderful organization whether through volunteering, hosting a pajama drive, or donating, please contact me
Thank you for opening your hearts to help a child feel cared for and comforted.
