Cynthia Cummings has been the Executive Director of Community Parents, Inc., for three decades, serving 275 Head Start families in Brooklyn and Queens, NY. She graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies. Her advocacy for all children and vision of promoting family engagement incorporates research best-practices that improve life outcomes in the communities served.
Her professional affiliations include Chairperson of the DC 1707 Local 95 Head Start Employee Welfare Fund and trustee of the Head Start Management Welfare Fund. She is a UCLA Johnson & Johnson and Coro Leadership NY Fellow. She has served as an advisory member of the Head Start-Public School Early Childhood Transition Demonstration Project, the 3K and Early Learn Transition Advisory Group, NYC Early Learn Core Directors, and Empire State Child Care Campaign.
