Raleigh Chapter

Sue Myers, Raleigh Chapter President, was born and raised in West Virginia and moved to North Carolina in the mid-90’s. She and her husband strongly support organizations for those in need, especially organizations supporting children. As an elementary school teacher, she is continually amazed and inspired by her students.

Sue learned about Pajama Program when she stumbled across an article about Genevieve in a waiting room magazine. After reading it, something ‘clicked’ and she knew she had to be involved. When she found out that the eastern part of North Carolina was not represented, she jumped at the chance to become Chapter President.

Charlotte Chapter

Karen Dorrell, Charlotte Chapter President, is originally from Virginia and has worked in the Environmental Engineering field for over 12 years. Before taking on the role of Charlotte Chapter President, she has also been the Georgia and the Maine Chapter President.

She initially found out about Pajama Program while watching the Oprah show in April 2007, and she immediately related to Genevieve. She was inspired and wanted to learn more. Karen has wonderful memories of her parents reading stories to her while she was snuggled in bed wearing her warm, comfy pajamas. She knows just how much children truly need pajamas and books.
