Karen Dorrell, Charlotte Chapter President, is originally from Virginia and has worked in the Environmental Engineering field for over 12 years. She previously volunteered as the Georgia and the Maine Chapter President.

She initially found out about Pajama Program while watching the Oprah show in April 2007, and she immediately related to our founder, Genevieve Piturro. She was inspired and wanted to learn more. Karen has wonderful memories of her parents reading stories to her while she was snuggled in bed wearing her warm, comfy pajamas. She knows just how much children truly need pajamas and books.
