Pajama Program Opens its New Atlanta Center

January 25th, 2024

Pajama Program is thrilled to announce the official grand opening of our new Atlanta Center at MET Atlanta, located just south of downtown. This remarkable milestone marks our commitment to providing resources and education to Atlanta children, fostering better sleep routines that will last a lifetime.

The inauguration took place on January 25th, featuring an uplifting ceremony that included a lively Storytime Plus session with a local classroom of children, dedicated volunteers, and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the Center to the community. Attendees included community members, Pajama Program supporters and volunteers, members of the press, corporate partners, including longtime partner and beloved children’s brand Carter’s, and more.

Our Executive Director, Jamie Dyce, led the ribbon-cutting duties, joined by esteemed Board Members Jill Wilson (Carter’s), Julie D’Emilio (Carter’s), and Charece Williams (Coca-Cola Company),  as well as Community Programs Director Douna Hunter,, Kiko Lee Harden (The Perry Foundation), longtime volunteer and donor Lisa Mancuso, and Program Coordinator Regina Lucas.

The grand opening was more than a ceremonial event; it marked the commencement of a dedicated space for the children of Atlanta. Pajama Program envisions a world where every child can wake up ready to fulfill their potential. In this new Center, children will learn about nurturing bedtime routines and share storybook moments with dedicated volunteers, fostering an environment where the joy and support experienced here extend into their nightly routines and beyond.

Establishing a bedtime routine is not just a momentary act; it is an investment in a child’s future. This routine becomes a comforting experience that travels with them into adulthood, laying the foundation for the restorative, healthy sleep they need to be at their best every day.

The grand opening was a testament to the collaborative spirit of the community. The presence of community members, supporters, volunteers, and corporate partners such as Pajama Program’s longest-standing and largest partner, Carter’s, underscored the shared commitment to the well-being of Atlanta’s children. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who are here to experience and shared in the joy of this momentous occasion,” said Jamie Dyce, Executive Director. “Your support fuels our work to provide every child with the resources and education needed for a brighter, well-rested future.”

Storytime Plus volunteer sessions have commenced at the Center, offering an interactive platform for volunteers to engage with children, instill the power of a good night’s sleep, and contribute to the creation of better bedtime routines.
