Wrapping Up the ’21-’22 School Year

As another challenging school year winds down, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible work that our team has accomplished since last fall.

During the ’21-’22 school year…

  • We Zoomed into nearly 200 classrooms with the virtual edition of our Storytime Plus program, providing nearly 3,650 K-2 students with our interactive bedtime routine lesson, engaging stories read aloud, and new pajamas, books, and reminder magnets – all to help children feel connected, secure, and prepared at bedtime!
  • Nearly 275 Head Start and other early childhood educators received the professional development training and tools to deliver our comprehensive Sweet Dreamzzz for Early Childhood program to over 2,500 preschoolers and their caregivers! With the help of our 2-week classroom curriculum, connected parent education, teaching teddy bears, bedtime routine kits, and new pajamas and books, preschool students, parents, and educators worked as a team to foster comforting bedtime routines and healthy sleep!
  • We distributed nearly 125,000 pajamas and 82,000 books to over 1,300 community partners that work directly with children facing adversity in their lives.

“The presentation was simple and clear. The children really enjoyed it. They loved reading the stories together and making it part of the bedtime routine.”

– Elementary school teacher and Storytime Plus participant

As we end the current school year, relax into summer, and begin preparing for next year, there is one thing we all know for sure: routines and sleep will be critical for young children.

Getting a good night’s sleep on a regular basis improves children’s focus, memory, learning, and behavior. It strengthens the immune system, regulates mood, and builds resilience. Sleep helps children thrive in the classroom and at home.

That’s why Pajama Program continues to work diligently to deliver programming that helps children have Good Nights for Good Days. Thank you to all our donors and volunteers who have made our accomplishments possible and allow us to dream of a bright future.

Help us support good nights for good days for all children, everywhere.
